Wedding Day Style & Preparations - A Glimpse Into Mariana & Robert's Special Day

Article by Love Ellie Bridal

Introducing our beautiful bride Mariana and her handsome husband Robert. We are so grateful to these newlyweds who very kindly gave us a glimpse into their wedding day style and the preparations leading up to it. Mariana has the most fantastic personality that everyone here in Love Ellie found irresistible! Mariana told us all about their love story and how it started over 10 years ago through their combined interest in tennis. We hope you enjoy reading about their big day as much as we did.

- What was the most fun part of your wedding day?

All of it! Being in Ibiza with over 100 of our nearest and dearest was a key highlight, we did a boat trip the day before the wedding with everyone which was so much fun. For the wedding day itself it’s impossible to pick one moment! Perhaps the ceremony and exchanging our vows which we wrote ourselves, that was very special to share in front of our family and friends in a place that is very special to us with the sun setting over the sea.

- What kind of ceremony did you guys have?

We had a humanist type wedding ceremony in the beautiful Amphitheatre on the cliffs of Ibiza.

- What was your overall wedding style?

Fun, relaxed, elegant and classic, yes, those things mix :-)

- What was your experience like searching for your dress?

Well, the first time I went to try on dresses it was because my bridesmaids booked appointments for me and once I started shopping I was in shock at how long designers and boutiques needed to get the dress ordered etc. I was very much under the impression I could pick a dress within 4 weeks of the wedding! I didn’t have anything in mind when I started looking but once I started, I visited over 10 shops in the space of about 3 weeks and must have tried on over 100 dresses!!! I came to Love Ellie Bridal with a pal from work and to be honest, it’s so cliché, but I knew that the dress I ultimately

chose was “the one” but was in denial, as it was the opposite of what I thought I would go for. Debbie was so lovely and so patient with me, and I came back once more before finally saying yes to the dress!

- How did you know it was THE Dress?

Probably because I felt amazing in it the moment I tried it on and everyone kept saying how it fits my personality, which is a funny thing to say about a dress but it does. I adore bows and pockets and it had both. Also I loved that it was classic at the front with drama from the back… :-) Of course my friend and mum crying the first time they saw me in it was also a green flag.

- What other accessories did you wear?

I had a stunning veil which was also chosen in Love Ellie Bridal (thanks again Debbie for choosing the most perfect veil!) I added a very subtle belt to the waistline also. In terms of jewellery I stuck to my everyday blue sapphire earrings and ring, with blue shoes.

- If you could give brides-to-be one piece of advice, what would it be?

Don’t be afraid to move away from traditions and make it your own unique day. Be it by choosing an unusual venue or making the ceremony more personal..... do what will bring meaning to you, not what is done for the sake of tradition. Also hire a wedding planner and have fun! I took this one too literally and partied in Ushuaia at Martin Garrix the night before the wedding (nothing a good sheet mask can't fix :-))
